climbing a tree

We have so many trees on our 20 acres of wooded land. This means lots of opportunities to try and climb them!  I love living here – the peace, the safety, so much room for playing! One of our favorite things to do is walk down our drive way to get the mail. Because our driveway is reminiscent of a private dirt road. It winds and turns, then opens to the main road. Along these walks we talk, discover treasures and see if we meet a deer.

Our land is filled with overgrown weeds, prairie grasses, baby trees, and even berry bushes. It is home to deer, racoons, possums, and so many insects. The three biggest pests my kids face when they go on nature walks are ticks, mosquitoes and chiggers.

Every time they go outside, I spritz some Cutter® on their skin.  I keep some of this in my car too for when we go on picnics. You just can’t play in the grass in Kansas without chiggers eating up your sock line and belt line – then you are miserable for days! I’ve depended on Cutter® Repellents since I was a kid. I know it works and I know how much I regret not using it!

My children are all so different. Lizzie is my dreamer, my fair-skinned little computer geek. She would rather wear a dress and cute shoes than tennis shoes and shorts any day. When I told her I wanted to help her climb a tree, she put on this dress. Thankfully we have a tree that is easy to climb, even in a dress.

And these two? They are the best friends in the entire world! Lucy loves dressing up fancy, but also adores it when her older brother dresses her in his clothes.  David is the sweetest, kindest brother to her.  He taught her how to climb the tree, gave her a walking stick, and they laughed with each other while Lizzie inspected her own branch.

When these three precious babies go out and play, I don’t want them to come back all bitten up. The Cutter® Repellents are a huge relief to me! This helps them want to go back outside more – which I seriously love too! Do you use their products? They have a super fun promotion going on over on their Facebook fan page! It’s a Like To Win and updates weekly, so good luck!!
